Complaints by the Xghajra Council with the Road`s

L-Awrat Street is in a dangerous state and causing great concern both to its residents and users. Unless immediate action is taken and this road is asphalted together with a holding wall, there is imminent danger of part of the road collapsing onto the children`s` playground which lies underneath the road. Furthermore this is precluding the Council from putting into action the approved development of a recreational center along the valley underneath this road.

Environmental Initiative to improve Malta and Gozo

Bank Of Valletta and the 34U Campaign are helping out various local councils by giving 50 new trees to plant in an identified cluster. Xghajra was chosen to be one of these councils. These trees will be funded by BOV under the environment pillar of our Community Programme.
This initiative is an opportunity in promoting environmental awareness, as well as instilling responsibility towards our natural habitat. Work to plant these trees will start in the near future.

Stained Glass Training Course

The Xghajra Local Council through its Cultural and Educational Committee organised a stained glass training course for beginners under the instruction of Mr Carmel Victor Abela. This course will be repeated in the near future and those interested to participate can do so by enrolling with the council (telephone 21693269) or direct with Victor Abela (21826980).
